A ghost pond, a salt march, waders at dawn, poems by Katrina Porteous, a discussion with Richard Mabey and Patrick Barkham, a talk on rewilding our seas by Charles Clover and one on the Anglo – Saxons’ relationship with it, by Matthew Hollis and Bernard O’Donogue; are some of the many things to look forward to at this year’s Literature & Landscape Festival. Beatrice will be exhibiting engravings alongside Tor Falcon’s wonderful drawings and on the 3rd, October Beatrice will be giving a talk about her work and the species which inspire it.

From Manure to the Moon Dung beetles & stellar navigation, bats & tequila, the fastest mammal and a salamander that is able to feel light through its skin – join Beatrice Forshall, author of The Book of Vanishing Species and Groundswell’s artist in residence on a journey through the lives of six species threatened with extinction and their importance to the health of our soil, air & water. The talk is a celebration of the natural world and shows us what can be done to protect it. There will be a reading, book signing and a chance to buy a bottle of walnut ink made on Beatrice’s family farm.
